What did we learn from ICC World T20?

So then, the dust has finally settled in and it seems that the feelings have sinked in as well. We played a ICC World T20 and fared quite decent over there. We would have definitely loved to have played against the West Indies yesterday instead of Bangladesh but then, the life is never really about perfection and to be honest, it was the best result we could have hoped for. Now then, what next? And did this tournament paved enough paths for future success.

Keeping aside the euphoria and emotions involved, what exactly did we learn? Cricketlok presents you the third and sadly the last part of this article series for the time being.

181885 1 150x150 What did we learn from ICC World T20?
1) Last Overs Crisis:- Well, this was one of those things Nepal was really consistent on. Cricketlok had pin-pointed the issue after both the previous games and sadly the trend continued. Here’s a staggering statistic:- Nepal had a combined score of 43 runs for 8 wickets in the last 2 overs of three matches. If only we could have scored 2 more runs in each 3 balls faced in that period, Hong Kong needed to chase their target against Bangladesh in 18.2 overs i.e. 109 runs in 110 balls. You know, cricket math is crazy affair but one thing is for certain, last two overs in each matches were the phases we were arguably at our worst. It would be really harsh to pin-point a specific batsman as culprit but then if you fancy there’s a website for you – Youtube.

2) Our pacers were better than we thought:- Now, this is really a bold statement but I have been advocating this for a while now. Let’s face it, we don’t have tear-away fast bowlers but then, who has them in contemporary cricket. Krishmar Santokie is opening the bowling for West Indies, allegedly the place where the batsman were asked to buy a car if they wanted to drive. It’s a high-time we get slightly less obsessed with a search of a tear-away bowler. Well, it would be absolutely great if we find one but let’s not do the hunt in the cost of some consistent medium pacers. Jitendra Mukhiya bowled yorkers at will, something that can be associated with very few in the history of the game. Sompal Kami broke the 140 kmph barrier, I wonder if some Indian bowler will manage that. Elsewhere, we have Avinash Karn who on his day can swing the bowl like anything. If we go little further we have Kumals, Sawads and Giris with us. Let’s make them the best they can be. Playing against seamers can still be hailed as our weakness but I for one would not agree to the popular belief that our seamers are not good enough.

3) Yes the NEW Nepal has finally arrived:-
The political cliché of New Nepal is finally seen in cricket. A New Nepal which can stand up to the world and command the attention. A New Nepal which is unflustered even among the heavyweights of the world. Nepal has found an identity even apart from the Everest and the Buddha. I really hope a day would come when saying that Buddha was born in Nepal would no longer be the biggest claim of patriotism a Nepali can make and I can see that happening. If someone asks us about our country while we are roaming in the green belts of Nigeria, saying we belong to a cricket heavyweight nation would be a much bigger satisfaction than saying that we belong to a land where the greatest human being to have ever graced our land was born 2000 years ago. I would prefer it to describe my nation. My Nepal. The New Nepal.

4) ICC and its functioning are absurd:- To be honest, this was not something we got to knew after the World Cup but just that the World Cup exposed it like anything. The two associate nations who made the biggest impact do not have ODI status with them and are therefore uncertain as to what their T20 status is. You can argue that both teams fared badly in the World Cup Qualifiers and therefore do not deserve but then what exactly is status? How justified is that a tournament played in the most alien of the conditions where two of your best players are injured/absent decide your fate for next four years. The Netherlands missed some key players as they were on their duty in Australian domestic cricket and we know the Nepalese part, don’t we? While there is no doubt that neither deserved to play the World Cup with that performance and in fact would only get a look in if it was to be extended to a 17 or 19 team event. But status? Let’s give a bigger thought to the depth of the word. It’s not just the status, with it comes the funds, facilities and fixtures. Isn’t ICC supposed to be thriving on the possibility of expansion to new cricketing economy or use its money where there is a visible prospect of growth. No disrespect to any teams who has gained the status but I can clearly name 2-3 nations where it’s just a waste of resources. And yes for idealists out there, even I believe that this whole status thing needs to be scrapped but since we are bound to live with it, let’s be pragmatic enough to analyze the best way it can be handled.
odqvNGfagid What did we learn from ICC World T20?

5) What next:
We will be playing ACC Premier League in a month or so. We may discuss long and hard about the status thing but the fact remains that we will be playing 3 ODI nations in that tournament. Their matches between then will have ODI status and ours will be as good as the ones played in our backyards as far as status and records are records. Having said that, it’s the fixtures that matters the most and not the status. With the new-found confidence of beating Afghanistan senior team in a decade, we should and rather must aim to win that tournament. Anything other than top-2 finish would be marked with red ink in my books. In a crazy way it’s a time to be revolutionary, Let’s hammer the ODI status Hong Kong every time we meet them. Let’s send a message to the ICC that it is actually a 26 year old homegrown professional Paras Khadka who can lead the hopes of associates in long run rather than 43 year old ex-Pakistani aircraft attendant Khurram Khan. Let’s show them that it’s not just about slogging a six and playing dots after dots, it’s about finesse and craft, it’s about passion and patience. And as Barrack Obama said in his victory speech, “the best is yet to come.”

CAN, Zohra reach agreement – Nepal Premiere League likely to start mid-April

The Cricket Association of Nepal and Zohra Sports Management have reached a final agreement on the outstanding issues of the inaugural Nepal Premiere League. Mr Tanka Aangbuhang, the president of CAN, has said that CAN will be the organizers of the NPL while Zohra Sports will be in charge of event management. This has cleared the way for Nepal’s first premium sports league to go ahead after it was in doubt for some time due to dissatisfaction from within CAN as well as the ACC that the tournament had not been under the ownership of CAN.

Mr Aangbuhang insisted there was never any doubt about the NPL taking place. “We were always positive about this tournament and there was no question of it not happening. We just wanted to fine-tune the management issues”, Mr Aangbuhang said. Aangbihang further explained that CAN took the time it took to ensure it covered all the necessities for the tournament to meet the standards of the ACC and ICC. “The CAN, in addition to organizing the on-field tournament, will also carefully monitor and manage other things like facilities provided for the players, including the lodging facilities, financial transactions and so on.”

One of the major issues the ACC raised was if NPL could be made free from match fixing, doping and other such issues and Aangbuhang said a special committee would be responsible to monitor these events.  ”CAN will form a special committee to monitor and prevent such acts and ensure the NPL remains clean from the start.” He also added that a formal contract would be signed very soon.

File Photo: A new-look Fapla Cricket Ground will host the 2-day matches of the NPL 2013

“I am here for Nepali Cricket and it is my aim to try and develop Nepali Cricket as much as possible.” said Zohra Sports Management chief and former national player Aamir Akhtar, when asked if he was happy with CAN taking the tournament responsibility from them. The NPL, a tournament with 6 privately owned teams, is scheduled to follow the originally planned format of 2-day, 50-over and T20 matches to be held in Dhangadhi, Rajbiraj and Kathmandu respectively, in that order. Mr Akhtar said the fixtures of the 2014 NPL would be released in a couple of days.

Though the NPL is an exciting prospect, CAN was not getting ahead of themselves and planned to organize the national tournaments as before, Aangbuhang said. He also said the CAN would now work in a “new way” and focus on making the players able to survive on just cricket and build proper infrastructures among other things. “We aim to build at least 4 international standard stadiums and one domestic stadium in each region. We will also focus on providing exposure for the national team and have regular tournaments for age level and women’s team. We are already  in talk with the National Sports Council and the Ministry of Sports. We will make the most of this time after the WT20.”

http://holly-kolly-bolly.blogspot.com/

Miley Cyrus Is Not to Blame for Everything

It's almost become a game — how many things can be blamed on Miley Cyrus? When she went out on her Bangerz tour, mothers — none of whom had apparently been paying attention to what the singer's been up to since Hannah Montana — took to the web to complain about her antics, comparing the stage show to porn and lamenting the fact that their children had been exposed to it. Joe Jonas wrote a tell-all essay for New York Magazine, where he revealed that it was peer-pressure from Cyrus and Demi Lovato that got him to smoke pot for the first time. When she subsequently lit up a joint on stage in Amsterdam, she was labeled out of control. Months after, she caught a ton of flak for her "twerking" at the MTV Video Music Awards, the Internet exploded with rumors that Cyrus was the real reason behind the break-up of Robin Thicke and his wife, Paula Patton.

Now, Katy Perry is taking shots at the singer after Cyrus tried to kiss her at a concert, telling an Australian television show that she backed away from the smooch because, "God knows where that tongue has been." Even something as simple as being photographed using a teleprompter during a concert in Denver — a practice that did not originate with Cyrus — becomes national tabloid fodder. All that's missing at this point is Vladimir Putin issuing a statement saying that Cyrus is the real cause behind the unrest in the Ukraine.

Do a search for Cyrus' name and you'll return a lot of self-righteous posturing about her habit of not wearing clothes and her professed love of marijuana. The problem with all of this is that when you boil it all down, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what Cyrus is doing. In fact, if anything, it's a savvy career move.

Cyrus' image make-over isn't the first of its kind. When Drew Barrymore wanted to be seen as something more than the girl from E.T., she posed for Playboy and flashed David Letterman on national television. Within the music industry, Cyrus still has a ways to go before she tops the dual masters of self-promotion, Madonna and Lady Gaga. Heck, Madonna was kissing Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera years before Cyrus thought of it, and Gaga has been naked (or nearly) so often that it doesn't even register anymore.

So, why does what Cyrus is doing bother so many people? Is it because there's a segment of the audience that feels like they've watched her grow up on her Disney Channel show? Is it because she comes from a country music background with its more "traditional" values and with none other than Dolly Parton as her godmother? Or is it just that even now, people have difficulty with a young woman flaunting her sexuality?

The truth is that as a culture there are continuous mixed messages about female sexuality. Being sexy is valued, but being overtly sexual can go either way. When Jennifer Lawrence goes on Conan and tells a story about sex aides, it gets treated as something cute. If Kim Kardashian does the same thing, the nicest label that gets attached to her is "vapid." Madonna and Gaga are hailed as smart business women for parlaying an image based largely on sex into millions of dollars, but Spears is continuously portrayed disparagingly for doing the same thing. Cyrus was bashed for the tone of her concerts, but mothers routinely take their daughters to Perry's shows that feature skimpy costumes, stripper poles and a variety of accoutrements tied to her breasts. How does any young female performer that's coming up know what's over the line, when the line isn't the same for any two women?
To her credit, Cyrus does not take the criticism without hitting back. When Jonas made his comments, she responded to the New York Times that, "If you want to smoke weed, you're going to smoke weed. There's nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don't want to do." When Perry called her out, she took to Twitter to shoot back about Perry's ex-boyfriend John Mayer, "Girl if ur worried abt where tongues have been good thing ur ex boo is ur EX BOO cause we all know where THAT (tongue) been."

She also has a sense of humor about it, appearing on Saturday Night Live two different times in the fall to make fun of the furor over her behavior. Parton, who was never shy about using her own sexuality to gain notice, has defended her goddaughter as well, telling a London newspaper, "It's not easy being young. You almost have to sacrifice your damn soul to get anything done."

Unlike Justin Bieber and Lindsay Lohan, Cyrus appears to know exactly what she's doing. If she's to blame for anything, it's for showcasing again the double-standards that get applied to strong, young women.

According to the Times, Harris is expected to file one or more civil complaints related to the accident in the next few weeks.

Harris declined to discuss his legal strategy but said: "There's a lot of pressure on these producers and directors to make these films under budget. It would have cost them a lot more to have the railroad shut down."

The movie's director, Randall Miller, who is also a producer on the film, is represented by Savannah-based attorney Harry D. Dixon Jr., who was the United States attorney for the Southern District of Georgia under the Clinton administration.

'Particle Fever': Thrills, Chills And High Subatomic Drama

'Particle Fever': Thrills, Chills And High Subatomic Drama
All you really need to know about Particle Fever is that it includes footage of physicists rapping. About physics. Wearing giant Einstein masks.
http://education-college-admission.blogspot.com/
It's that blend of earnestness and abandon that informs Mark Levinson's utterly absorbing documentary, a chronicle of the launch of the and the search for the fabled Higgs boson, a subatomic particle long theorized but never located. The film takes a skinny 99 minutes to cover a five-year span and a territory as huge as the universe — bigger, actually, once you learn that some theorists think ours might be just one of many. It's jaw-droppingly cool stuff, explained with admirable clarity by an affable physicist tour-guide, David E. Kaplan, and wedded to the tale of a massive technological undertaking like nothing in history. ("The biggest machine ever built by human beings," as one scientist puts it.) And it's flat-out thrilling.

The Higgs boson, if you don't remember the headlines, is the one some people (not physicists) call "the God particle," and it's the key to a sprawling construct called the Standard Model, which particle physics uses to explain ... well, everything. Everything we know about how the universe works. Find the Higgs, confirm the Standard Model.

Well, sort of. Much — including the notion that there might be multiple universes, with many different flavors of physics — depends on the mass of the Higgs. That's why thousands of people teamed up to find it, spending two decades building this massive supercollider to smash beams of protons together, essentially recreating the Big Bang so they can measure the Higgs. Talk about a quest with some stakes.

Levinson's storytelling frames that quest so aptly that it's just minutes before you're rooting for the film's handful of protagonists: Kaplan, one of the theorists who frame the ideas about how the universe is structured; the wonderfully enthusiastic Monica Dunford, a postdoctoral student who's among the experimentalists trying to prove or disprove those theories; the magnificent Fabiola Gianotti, a classical pianist turned physicist who's in charge of the huge experiment Dunford is working on; the intense Nima Arkani-Hamed, Kaplan's friend and rival theorist; elegant Martin Aleksa, an Austrian experimentalist and father of two.

They're ridiculously geeked out when Google celebrates their work with a doodle on the day their phenomenal machine goes online. They party like the world's nerdiest rock stars that night. (It's where that hysterical rap act comes in.) Then, perhaps inevitably, there's a setback — what's got to be the most heartbreaking helium leak in cinematic history. Everything's suddenly at a standstill, and no one knows when it'll start up again.

Playing out amid stunning landscapes near Geneva, Switzerland, with side trips to visit the theorists at Johns Hopkins and Stanford and such, Particle Fever is an unexpectedly dramatic look into an area of inquiry so esoteric that most of us will never quite get our heads around it. But Robert Miller's playful music punctuates the narrative and helps underscore the stakes; witty graphics and animations help elucidate complicated theories.

And no, that setback won't be the end of the story. Particle Fever sticks with its endearing heroes until the Large Hadron Collider is patched up and humming along again, and thousands gather from all over to watch as the data begins to flood in. And we're there with them, inside the room, on the cusp of a monumentally significant scientific breakthrough.

The climax of the film is a pair of PowerPoint presentations — PowerPoint presentations! — in which these people we've come to root for interpret that data for an auditorium full of luminaries including Peter Higgs, the physicist who first posited the existence of the particle named for him. He inspires the crowd to cheers, which is wonderful. The presentations inspire lumps in the throat — which is an out-and-out triumph, for the physicists onscreen and the filmmakers who put them there.

Buy Coupons on eBay: You could always buy the 10% off coupons on eBay. The 20% Home Depot coupons are fake due to the editing of the expiration date. They tell you to use it at Lowe’s since some stores don’t know it. The $10 Off $50 Purchases Coupons are legit. I would buy this if you know your purchases will be around $50, hence representing a 20% savings.

Back then, you can go visit your local US Post Office, get in line, and simply ask for a Mover’s Guide Package. There is always a 10% off Lowe’s coupon. I think they change it now whereas you get a link to apply online. Someone could help me by confirming this.

These coupons offer a nice discount that stacks with nearly everything. At Lowe’s or Home Depot Cashier, simply whip out your 10% off coupon and then pay your item(s) with you gift cards that you bought up to 15% off. Your total discount, at minimum, will be at least 20% OFF each time.

Step 4: Order online via Cash Back Portal, Pickup in-store, Exchange Store Credit
We all know you lose your cash back for returning items when shopping through Cash Back Portal such as TopCashBack. To Double Dip on this method, you will need to pick up and pay for the item, then go back to the return counter and do an exchange for store credit. The key word is exchange, do not mention a return, or a chargeback on your card. Typically, you want to ballpark and buy 1-2 random items that are in the same total price range to exchange, then execute this strategy to double dip. This method will net you an additional 6% Cash Back from TopCashBack.

Step 5: Do 110% Price Match

This is an advance strategy and will only work with big ticket items. You will need to keep a lookout at the competitor’s store such as Sears or HHgreeg when they have big ticket items on sale. Lets say Sears is having a 20% off sale on the same fridge model. You will need to take that ad and ask for 110% pm policy for local competitors. The appliance person will offer to PM but you can insist on 110%. You can use your gift cards here to save an additional 11.5% but they will not let you use the 10% off coupon. Instead, decline and say that you need to think about it and ask for them to save it in the computer with your phone number. You can then pay it later with a different cashier and whip out your 10% coupon then.

Review: I Have Nothing Good to Say About '300: Rise of an Empire,' So Turn Back Now

http://merokhowledge.blogspot.com
Gun to my head, I might be able to say something positive about 300: Rise of an Empire. In a vacuum, I suppose I'd call its aesthetic appealing, its production value impressive, or its giant rhinos kind of cool. But these elements cannot be taken alone, embroidered on a gigantic patch of joyless pain that infests your conscious mind from its inceptive moments on.

It's not so much that the 300 sequel fails at its desired conceit — it gives you exactly what it promises: gore, swordplay, angry sex, halfwit maxims about honor and manliness and the love of the fight. It's simply that its desired conceit is dehumanizing agony. Holding too hard and too long to its mission statement to top its Zack Snyder-helmed predecessor in scope, scale, and spilled pints of blood, Noam Murro's Rise of an Empire doesn't put any energy into filtering its spectacular mayhem through whatever semblance of a humanistic touch made the first one feel like a comprehensive movie.

Now, it's been a good eight years since I've seen 300, and I can't say that I was particularly fond of it. But beneath its own eye-widening layer of violence, there was a tangible idea of who King Leonidas was, what this war meant, and why Sparta mattered. No matter how much clumsy exposition is hurled our way, all we really know here is that there are two sides and they hate each other.

When Rise of an Empire asks us to engage on a more intimate level, which it does — the personal warfare between Sullivan Stapleton (whose name, I guess, is Themistokles) and Bad Guy Captain Eva Green (a.k.a. Artemisia) is founded on the idea that she likes him, and he kind of digs her (re: angry sex), and they want to rule together, but a rose by any other name and all that — we're effectively lost. With characters who don't matter in the slightest, material like this is just filler between the practically striking battle sequences.

But when the "in-between material" is as meaningless as it is in Rise of an Empire, the battles can't function as much more than filler themselves. Filler between the opening titles and closing credits. A game of Candy Crush you play on the subway. Contemptfully insubstantial and not particularly fun, but taking place nonetheless.

Without even a remote layer of camp — too palpably absent as Rise of an Empire splashes its screen with so much human fluid that "The End" by The Doors will start to play in your head — there's no victory in a movie like this. No characters to latch onto, no story to follow, no joy to be derived. Yes, it might be aesthetically stunning (and really, that's where the one star comes in... well, half a star for that and half for the giant rhinos), but the marvel of its look shrinks under the shadow of the painful vacancy of anything tolerable.

Jhola – Movie Review

Jhola – Movie Review
Nepali movie ‘Jhola’ is a movie made on a popular book by the same name by literary figure, Krishna Dharabasi. The plot set on the Nepali society of the time about a century ago. The movie directed by Yadav Kumar Bhattarai features Garima Pant, Desh Bhakta Khanal, Deepak Chhetri, Laxmi Giri, Pralhad Khatiwada etc. in main roles. The movie made on the banner of Media for Culture Pvt. Ltd. was made after an extensive research on the topic for about 7 years. Based on the novel, late Deepak Alok had written the script of the movie – keeping the core of the book intact. The movie can be categorized as a historical art movie.

Story

The movie presents the height of violence against women in ancient Nepal – Sati tradition. In ‘Jhola’ an young woman (Garima Pant) is married to a man 40 years senior to her. When her husband dies, Garima is burned alive with the dead body of her husband. She escaped the fire and hides in a cave. You can watch the movie to know what happens to Garima and how her underage son helps her.

The story was written by Dharabasi based on a story he found written in leaf booklet in a bag (Jhola) left at his home by an elderly man who had come from Manipur, India. Hence the name ‘Jhola’. The event shown in the movie happened in a remote village of Bhojpur district. The shooting however was done in Dhading after reviewing various other locations in Sindhuli, Bhojpur, Ilam, Therathum, Panchthar, Sindhupalanchowk, Rolpa, Taplejung, Khaptad, Doti, Achham, Bajhang, and Bajura.

Strength and Weakness

Although there are place for improving, the scenes in the movie seem realistic and historical. The movie depicts the environment of East Nepal at the time 100 years ago. The movie uses long shot to present realistic views of the time. The movie features traditional tools like dhiki, janto, madani, ranko, diyalo and so on.

The young people could get a glimpse of our past and the old people can feel the time they have went through in their childhood. So, both young and the old can enjoy the movie. In addition to Sati tradition, the movie also touches slavery (Kamara Kamari) tradition. The cinematography is one of the best aspect of the movie. The director has also taken care to present the ancient environment. Most of the lighting during the shooting were also made by traditional lights like ranko, diyalo and fire place light. The dress used by the characters were also sewn by hand.  Background music was also composed of leaf music and traditional tunes.

The director says that none of the artists have done make up. To make the characters natural, they had carried cow dung, dug in fields, carried water and the natural dirt was used to make the characters real.

Star Cast

Garima Pant and the child artist have done a very realistic acting. Other actors have also justified their character. In a report, Garima got sick after the shooting of the scene in which she runs away by swimming in the river. Garima told that throughout the shooting she didn’t take a bath or applied makeup.
The director Yadav Bhattarai is a well known name in directing Nepali music videos. After directing about 900 music video Yadav decided to make the movie on the story he read some 11 years ago. He read the book in BS 2059 and got the permission to make movie on it in BS 2063 from Dharabasi. The script writer Deepak Alok had died four years prior to the release of the movie.
Conclusion

‘Jhola’ is a historical movie to get a glimpse of the time of our fore fathers. The movie is a mirror of violence against women in ancient time. Apart from the entertainment, the movie offers insights into history, culture and tradition. ‘Jhola’ has it’s share of shortcomings but, it is a good historical movie.

If you like fight, singing and dance, and fun in movies – this might not be the one you would love to watch.
Recommendation – a must watch movie.

First-Look: 'Day Men' Issue 3 (Exclusive)

http://headlinekhabar.blogspot.com
ritten by Matt Gagnon and with art by Brian Stelfreeze, the third installment of the comic book series tells the One of the hotter independent comics out there is Boom! Studios' Day Men.

The book, written by Matt Gagnon with art by Brian Stelfreeze, is a unique take on the seemingly undying vampire genre: It tells the story of the men who handle the affairs of vampires while the sun is out and the bloodsuckers are napping.

The first issue sold out of its initial 12,000-copy first printing and generated Hollywood interest, with Universal picking up the movie rights. The second issue also went to a second printing; Wednesday sees the arrival of the third issue.

PREVIEW ART:  'Vampire Diaries' Comes to Comics (Preview Art)

Gagnon came up with the idea for Day Men about four years ago when he wanted to tell a vampire story from a human point of view. When he crossed the concept with another genre he liked, crime, and the idea of vampire clans being like Mafia families, it clicked.

"I started thinking, 'Who cleans up for them during the day?' and 'What kind of person do you have to be to take on this position?' " says Gagnon.

The hardest part of the process was the actual writing: Gagnon also is Boom!'s editor-in-chief and his busy day job forces him to write on weekends or early in the morning.

STORY: 'Vampire Diaries' Hits 100 Episodes: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev and Execs Tell All

Day Men is part of the creator-owned renaissance that is invigorating the comics industry, a renaissance that is seeing a lot of books with fresh ideas and original concepts being not only published but thriving, with some books' buzz rivaling that of the titles coming out of the Big Two, DC and Marvel.

You can thank Image -- with titles like Saga, Pretty Deadly and perennial best-seller The Walking Dead -- for much of the buzz, but Boom! has been no slouch, thanks to books like Six-Gun Gorilla and Day Men.

"There’s a real hunger right now for things that are new," says Gagnon.

Predicting the Best Supporting Actress Oscar: Jennifer Lawrence vs. Lupita Nyong'o

http://headlinekhabar.blogspot.com
There are only a few days left until the 2014 Academy Awards, so most of our predictions are solidified by now. But even though Cate Blanchett appears to be a lock for Best Actress and Alfonso Cuaron has the highest odds of winning Best Director, there's still one race that's impossible to guess: Best Supporting Actress. The two candidates who could snag the trophy are Lupita Nyong'o for her work in  12 Years a Slave and Jennifer Lawrence for her performance in American Hustle.

Normally, we could just rely on the previous awards shows to help influence our predictions. Blanchett and Cuaron have both swept their categories, as have Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto (who we think will take Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, respectively). But Lawrence and Nyong'o have split the opinions of the various awards organizations, which means the Oscar is still anyone's game. In an attempt to solve this problem once and for all and help you solidify your Oscar pool, we've taken a look back at all of the women who have won Best Supporting Actress in order to see if we could use the winners of yesteryear to determine who will walk home with the trophy on Oscar night.

Movies: American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence, Maggie Smith, California Suite, Helen Hayes, Jared Leto, Anastasia, Celeste Holm, Matthew McConaughey, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Hudson, Murder on the Orient Express, Gaslight, The Sin of Madelon Claudet, Octavia Spencer, Anne Baxter, Ingrid Bergman, Mary Steenburgen, Marisa Tomei, Olympia Dukakis, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Moonstruck, Mighty Aphrodite, Cactus Flower, Josephine Hull, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, My Cousin Vinny, Penélope Cruz, Halle Berry

Lost Girl’ Recap: XXX-Mas in March

http://headlinekhabar.blogspot.com
I think we can all agree that the last two episodes of Lost Girl have been a little lackluster. A bird Fae and a weird French flashback are not the best adventures for our favorite supernatural crew. Luckily, this week marks a return to the funny, frisky, and Fae-tastic (not quite Buffy-ish) fantasy. There’s an appearance by Krampus, who is a blend of Tim Allen’s character in The Santa Clause and the Robot Santa on Futurama. He punishes the naughty with death but is still a sweet old man. But quite horny... literally, with two ram horns.

This episode begins with Bo channeling her inner sorority girl by washing her car in the most gratuitously sexual way. After all, nothing gets the grime like water freshly fallen off boobs. Check your car manual, it’s true. As per usual, Lauren and Dyson hope desperately to be her number one. They are really starting to bond. Given the sexual fluidity of the show, could they end up hooking up?

The gang is celebrating Yule. It’s like Fae Christmas, only they celebrate by getting utterly smashed and the only present is not getting killed. The gang seems to be overcompensating to show Bo they appreciate her. And yet, they ignore her.
